The Transparency Act
Thermo-Transit Norge AS and TTN Trucking work continuously internally in their own business and with our suppliers to safeguard and ensure basic and decent working conditions.
The purpose of the Transparency Act is to ensure that the general public has access to information about how this work is carried out. The Act is based on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. With this, we carry out so-called due diligence, which follows six points.
Below we explain the points in our assessments.
Embed accountability in the organisation's policies.
Our processes and documents for corporate governance anchor our responsibility. We also hold our requirements for suppliers to the same standard. Work on ethics in the supply chain is defined in the company’s governing documents.
The Board of Directors ensures and approves the content of the governing documents, and provides internal advice and reporting. The HR and Quality Manager is responsible for compliance and follow-up.
Mapping and risk assessment
Risk assessments are carried out for all our suppliers for violations of human rights and decent working conditions.
Our largest purchasing category is transport services. This is an industry where the risk of violations of rights and working conditions is relatively high, and in this part of our supply chain the priority for assessments and controls is greatest. For new procurements, the risk assessment will be updated and any measures considered.
Prevention and measures
We work continuously with responsibility and sustainability, here in our own Group and with our suppliers. We require that our suppliers’ employees have proper employment contracts, documented wages, freedom of association, and that human rights and working conditions are essential to the collaboration.
Our suppliers must accept and sign the company’s self-declaration and Supplier Declaration. These include requirements for working conditions, human rights, wages, forced labour, freedom of association, etc.
We carry out background checks, self-assessments, checks on drivers and vehicles, and maintain close cooperation with our subcontractors to fulfil these requirements.
Where we uncover deficiencies or breaches of laws and regulations, as well as our requirements for ethical standards. This must be rectified within a reasonable time. Most suppliers are able to rectify the situation without delay, and cooperation with suppliers on compliance with regulations is an important part of our work on human rights and labour conditions. If the supplier is unable or unwilling to correct the conditions, they are immediately blocked and rejected as a supplier to Thermo-Transit Norge AS.
Monitoring and follow-up
Deviations and results are logged and reported in our collaboration with our suppliers. If there is a need for follow-up and improvement at suppliers, this is monitored closely and systematically so that conditions are corrected or reported if deviations are not improved. Results and deviations in this will be reported in our annual report.
Handling of enquiries and communication
Our customers and partners, as well as other interested parties, enquire about Thermo-Transit Norge AS’s work with supplier follow-up.
We respond to such enquiries on an ongoing basis and the results of these are also included in our report on our work in the annual report.
Co-operation
Cases that may require restoration of damage or compensation are followed up. To date, there have been no such cases.
In our annual report, you can find more about our work with our suppliers and ethics with our suppliers and partners.
If you need further information about our work on these issues, please contact us.
